Former Church built as the First Methodist Church first service August 4th 1912. Later became First United Church, then the Salvation Army, then Antiques in the Abbey, then Char's home and public house April 1st 2010. Proud contributor to Port Alberni's Arts District and Tourism. Right in the heart of beautiful Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.

Char's Landing Hostel has 3 bedrooms, each with 4 single bunk beds and a full private bathroom (with tub/shower). Shared kitchen & laundry & TV room & Dining room. Free high speed WiFi plus Ethernet jack. Pet friendly on request. Plenty of free parking. We offer shared & private bedrooms, daily & weekly rates, and take all forms of payment. Char's Landing Guesthouse is 1000 sq ft of private living area with private entrance. Beds include 1 queen size, 1 double, 2 long singles, 2 foamys on the floor (by request). CHAR'S STORY

Char's Landing is located right in the heart of the Port Alberni's Uptown Art District. This beautiful century old former church building was purchased in 2010 by Charlene Patterson whose vision and hard work turned it into a public house hosting many community events and accommodating a multitude of travelers.
